Waterfront/Marine Engineer - Entry Level Waltham, Sandwich, Orleans, MA or Smithfield, RI

Our Waterfront/Marine Division has an immediate opening for a self-motivated Engineer to primarily provide civil and waterfront/marine engineering support to Project Managers for waterfront/marine engineering projects including marinas, piers, wharves, marine terminals, community waterfronts, recreational piers, harbors, waterfront parks, and residential and municipal properties. As a Waterfront/Marine Engineer, your responsibilities will involve performing a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with waterfront/marine engineering projects obtained by the company.

Duties would include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Perform routine technical duties including data collection, engineering, hydrographic and topographic survey computations.
  • Perform engineering and hydrographic survey field work.
  • Perform engineering analysis and design tasks.
  • Prepare AutoCAD plans for permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Perform wave and coastal resiliency analysis.
  • Perform wave and structure interaction analysis and design.
  • Design coastal engineered structures and living shorelines.
  • Perform geostructural engineering analysis including, but not limited to, armor stone revetments, slope stability, bulkhead/seawall.
  • Perform analysis and design of residential, commercial, industrial pier and/or wharf structures.
  • Perform sediment transport analysis.
  • Perform sediment quality and characteristic analysis for dredging projects.
  • Conduct construction inspections.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers in preparation of project deliverables including preparation of inspection reports and/or letters and environmental permitting and support services.
  • Positively contribute to company culture and participate in ongoing learning and training opportunities.
  • Other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Ocean or Civil Engineering (or related) Degree from an accredited program.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in preparing civil engineering plans using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate and develop working relationships with staff, clients, and other professionals.
  • A motivated team player with a positive attitude looking to grow and further their career.
  • Valid driver’s license.
