The Town of Bourne was looking to restore the existing roof cupola and to repair related water infiltration issues, as well as to restore three existing masonry (brick) walls and repair and re-paint the wood window and door frames. The three exterior elevations required plans and specifications for bidding purposes. Active water leakage was observed at the rooftop cupola, which has resulted in water damage in the building. The cupola is an ornate architectural element that has numerous avenues for leakage. The project involves separating the base of the cupola from the clear story portion above it and installing a continuous a membrane across the base with curbs and blocking to reattach the restored cupola to the existing structure.
