Latham Centers provide comprehensive residential, educational, and treatment services to special needs children. Their Cape Cod campus is located in Brewster village on historic Old Kings Highway.
Coastal Engineering (CEC) worked with the Center's Executive Director and lead architect to develop a Master Plan to address the Centers’ current and future growth needs. CEC developed a build-out scenario for site planning based on a building needs assessment and program developed by the team. This included siting new schoolhouse and dormitory buildings, additions and renovations to the historic Administration Building, additional parking, improved handicap-accessible routes, and an on-site sewage treatment and drainage for the entire campus. Upon completion of the Master Plan, site plans were prepared for environmental and town regulatory reviews, with subsequent completion of civil and structural engineering plans as required for bidding and construction. The project was developed in phases to accommodate funding and operational considerations.
