Nobska Light Adaptive Reuse

Nobska Light

The Friends of Nobska Light partnered with Coastal Engineering Co. and Brown, Lindquist, Fenuccio & Raber Architects to restore and preserve Nobska Light, a cherished icon of the greater Falmouth area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The magnificent views afforded by the rise of land overlooking the ocean on three sides form the backdrop for the lighthouse.

A key objective of the project was to maintain the picturesque quality of the buildings, the site, and its setting. The work included the maintenance and restoration of the keepers’ house for conversion to a museum that will be opened to the public. The keepers’ house will host educational exhibits on Falmouth’s maritime history once the buildings are restored. The property will be made handicap accessible. Coastal Engineering Co. has provided civil and structural engineering services for the project.
