Located in a flood zone, this new luxury residence required engineering guidance and coordination with landscape architects to keep in compliance with FEMA code requirements. Coastal engineering Co. worked with Dewing Schmid Kearns Architects + Planners to provide structural engineering services for the design review, as well as construction phase services, including field coordination, shop drawing review, and construction site meetings and inspections. What set this project apart was the fact that construction continued all winter thanks to a huge tent built over the frame using trusses and jersey barriers for uplift prevention.
