The Bourne Soldiers and Sailors Monument standing in front of Bourne Town Hall was dedicated in 1914 in memory of the men of the Northern army who fell during the American Civil War. The memorial had never had any maintenance done to it in its entire history, and was in need of replacing granite steps, brass letters and stars that were vandalized. Coastal Engineering Co. was hired to perform an existing conditions survey and site plan and field evaluation report for required repairs. We also prepared plans with sections and elevations for memorial restoration, and assisted the town with the preparation of technical spec and general notes to be included with plans showing scope of proposed restorative efforts as needed for public bid.
