Coastal Engineering participated in Cape-wide event to introduce and engage high school students to the various careers in the residential construction field.
Construction industry is one of the primary economic drivers on the Cape, and one of the leading employment sectors in the region leading to full-time, year-round employment. However, the industry is facing a severe shortage of talent. To raise students awareness about the career path available within STEM and link them with local employers, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod and the MassHire hold an annual Residential Construction Career Day, a free event for students in grades 9-12 including a series of interactive activities.
On October 6, 2022 Coastal Engineering Co. participated in a 6th Annual Residential Construction Career Day. Our Structural Staff Engineer Savannah Reynolds participated in Women in Construction round table and was available to answer questions and provide demonstrations to inform and inspire students, together with our Marketing Coordinator Ksenia Pryme. Students had a chance to learn about internships and various employment opportunities at Coastal Engineering Co. With attendance of about five hundred people, it was a great success!
