Coastal Engineering participated in Cape-wide career fair to introduce and engage high school students to the various careers in the residential construction field.
The construction industry is one of the primary economic drivers on the Cape, and one of the leading employment sectors in the region leading to full-time, year-round employment. However, the industry is facing a severe shortage of talent. To raise students awareness about the career paths available within STEM and link them with local employers, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod and the MassHire hold an annual Residential Construction Career Day. This is a free event for students in grades 9-12 and includes a series of interactive activities.
Coastal Engineering Co. participated in the 7th Annual Residential Construction Career Day. Our Structural Staff Engineer Savannah Reynolds and Marketing Coordinator Ksenia Pryme were available to answer questions and provide demonstrations to inform and inspire students to pursue an engineering career. Students also had a chance to learn about internships and various employment opportunities at Coastal Engineering Co. With attendance of about five hundred people, it was a great success!
