Career Day at Nauset Middle School

Flying cars, Earth-sized atmospheric filters, quick access to clean water, phones with holograms, and more! Who can make these things happen? Engineers!

Career Day Nauset Thumb

So what does it take to be an engineer? What qualities, strengths and interests? Today, Coastal Engineering Co. participated in Nauset Middle School Career Day. Our CEO John Bologna, P.E. together with a Nauset graduate Marshall Puffer of Engineering & Design Group shared their insights that led them to a career in engineering, explained what engineers do, and offered a few activities that hopefully inspired the middle schoolers to begin to plan for their future with a deeper understanding of what is involved in this career.

Engineering professionals in all disciplines are in high demand these days - and the demand is predicted to grow as much as 10% in the coming decade. If you know kids in grades 6-8 and would like to inspire them about a career in engineering, this is a great video to show them. Keep in mind that Coastal Engineering Co. offers scholarships to both NRHS and CCCC's students pursuing engineering studies!

And last but not least, make sure to watch the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Dream Big Film - premiering at Boston's Museum of Science on October 6, 2017.
