Downtown Orleans Sewer Going into Construction

The area in yellow on the attached map is the area where sewer will be installed.  Project updates such as where the construction will be daily and detours etc will be posted regularly on the Orleans PD facebook page. Here is the latest traffic redirection information:

• 03-16-18 through 03-21-18:  Work continues on Main St:  Snow Library toward Route 28 and also Cummings Road toward Rt. 6A.
• 03-22-18 through 03-27-18:  Construction work will be on Main Street between Rt. 28 and Academy Place intersection and also Route 6A from Main Street to about Cumberland Farms.
• 03-27-18 through 03-30-18:  Construction will be on Main Street from Snow Library heading toward Brewster Cross Road (please anticipate a library parking lot closure on or about 03-27-18) and also on Route 6A from Main St to about the Hole In One.

Coastal Engineering Co. performed an existing conditions topographical survey that was used by AECOM to assess and design this wastewater system. The survey included service coverage area of approximately 429 acres, the aerial topographical/planimetrics coverage area of approximately 673 acres, the roadways for supplemental survey areas of approximately 6,500 l.f. in length, and sill elevations for approximately 800 buildings. An aerial photography flyover survey with photogrammetric mapping was also performed for the subject area. All work was completed on time and on budget.
