On Monday, December 18, 2017, Coastal Engineering CEO John Bologna joined Lt. Governor Polito, Marshfield Town Administrator Maresco, Senator O’Connor, Representative Cantwell, and Harbormaster DiMeo at the official groundbreaking of the Marshfield Maritime Center.
In 2015, the Seaport Economic Council awarded the town of Marshfield a supportive coastal infrastructure grant for the construction of the Marshfield Maritime Center. Construction began on the new building in late October 2016. The two story complex was designed by Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype Architects together with Coastal Engineering Co. and is being built by Quincy’s G&R Construction.
"Marshfield’s active commercial fishing fleet and “critical” lobster industry makes the town worth investing in," Polito said. “When Mike came to make his presentation... we were convinced. You will use this facility for economic development. It will create jobs. It will create more economic benefit for Marshfield and the South Shore, and that’s why we at the council felt it was worthy to support this project.”
